There are not many Christians who feel challenged about their consumption of animal products. I think we have a responsibility as stewards of nature to minimise the damage we do to the environment as much as possible. In the past, our human footprint on nature was small, and in most locations, few alternative proteins were available. Modern man, however, is placing a massive burden on the planet, and alternative proteins are available, so it is time for us as Christians to evaluate our diet in this light. We should apply the principles of good stewardship under the leadership of the Spirit rather than apply individual passages of the Bible to defend our consumption of animal products.

In this context, veganism is a praxis of eco-theology.
